Katie Hobbs Says "It's Ridiculous" We Are Talking About Border Security

Commentary

Democrat Katie Hobbs says it’s “ridiculous” that border security is “a core issue in the governor’s race.”

In an Arizona Republic story published today, Hobbs said, “It's ridiculous that we are talking about this as a core issue in the governor's race.”

“For someone who wants to be governor of a border state, this is disqualifying.” – RNC Spokesperson Ben Petersen

Background
Katie Hobbs says she’s figured out the culprit for her campaign woes. No, according to Hobbs, it’s not that her record on border security is a disaster. It’s the Republicans’ fault for accurately reporting her record and statements.

Hobbs told the Republic, “I could stand here and say, ‘Build the wall,’ and they're gonna call me open borders. It really doesn't matter what I say for the Republicans...” (Katie Hobbs opposes the border wall, by the way.)

In a radio interview last week, Hobbs tried to blame the Biden Border Crisis on Republicans and former President Trump. The hosts were not having it. In the same interview, Hobbs could not recall the last time she visited the border.

Katie Hobbs’ open borders positions include completely flip-flopping on her support for ending Title 42, trying to defund the Border Strike Force and refusing to rule out removing the National Guard from Arizona’s border.
