AUSTIN, TX – The Republican National Committee (RNC) released a newly recorded video from Bob Dole, former United States Senator, RNC Chairman, and former Republican nominee for president. The RNC passed a resolution honoring Bob, Elizabeth, and Robin Dole for their ongoing service to our country and to celebrate Bob’s 98th birthday. The message was shown at RNC’s Fall Meeting in Austin, TX.

“I want to thank the RNC for this very nice and meaningful resolution. Thank you for honoring Elizabeth and Robin, too. It means a lot that you did this,” said Dole in the video message. “Thank you, and I'll see you all soon. Have a great week, great year, and a great election in ‘22 and '24.”
“We are honored by Bob Dole’s message, his continual service, and his ongoing commitment to working to elect Republicans,” said Chairman Ronna McDaniel. “We’re touched by his inspiring message and the RNC is grateful for all he has done and will continue to do for the Republican Party and our nation.”
The RNC resolution honoring Dole reads in part: “The Honorable Robert J. Dole has dedicated his life to our country, serving as a soldier and statesman for more than eight decades and who, in the words of Richard Ben Cramer, has ‘endured, suffered, and triumphed through the greatest events of our time’… RESOLVED, That the Republican National Committee joins with millions of Americans in wishing a very happy birthday to Senator Dole and honors and thanks him for his ongoing service to the people of the United States of America.”

I want to thank the RNC for this very nice and meaningful resolution. Thank you for honoring Elizabeth and Robin, too. It means a lot that you did this. It is very meaningful to be the party chair. I know how important the chairman is and it was the highest honor to be the Republican nominee in 1996.
I want to congratulate party Chairman McDaniel Co-Chair Tommy Hicks and Finance Chair Todd Ricketts, and the whole team, for all the work you're doing and will continue to do.
I hope I can be at my 100th birthday. You're all invited. And I hope to see you there, and if not, I will think of you.
