Chairwoman McDaniel: Real America Podcast Highlights Republicans Who Are Leading

RECHENBERG: And I understand the podcast is going to shine a light on some GOP leadership roles. You recently interviewed Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who warned about the ongoing border crisis. What can we expect from these conversations that you plan to share?

CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: I'm so excited about these podcasts because I get to talk to leaders all the time in a broader format about what their decision-making processes, their lives, how they got into politics. And so, these podcasts will give a good glimpse, especially with governors across the country, Republicans who led through Covid, whose economies are booming, how they've come to these decisions. So with Governor Abbott, you're going to hear about the border crisis. You're going to hear about the energy policies that are coming out of the Biden administration that would be decimating for the Texas economy. And they're all across the country, these podcasts, you can get them on GOP.com and Spotify and Apple and I'm really enjoying it.

Chairwoman McDaniel: RNC Is Protecting Election Integrity Laws

RECHENBERG: We've seen that on a state-by-state basis, of course, you mentioned the national attempt. Two in-state, these new election reform changes. Is that a major issue here, is that a priority for the GOP?

CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: Yes, I mean, I think there's a lot of common-sense laws that are being passed in states like Georgia and Iowa, and Florida. Things like voter ID, which the vast majority of Americans agree: we should show an ID to vote. Things like getting rid of ballot harvesting. Ballot harvesting, which allows activists to go door to door to door and collect thousands of ballots, which creates a chain of custody issues and security issues for ballots. Things that Republicans are against that are common sense. Making sure that drop boxes are secure, that there are cameras in the counting places and the polling places, so many things that we're putting forward across the country. The RNC is protecting these laws in three of these states. We are in 11 different lawsuits right now in Georgia, Florida, and Iowa. And we're going to continue to fight to make sure that every legal vote is counted, but that we are preventing cheating. And that's what every American deserves out of our election process, and it's really shameful for Democrats to paint these common-sense reforms as racist because they're not. And if anybody looks at these laws and takes them step by step by step, the vast majority of Americans would say, yeah, these are really common-sense measures that make a lot of sense to protect our election integrity. And that's why the GOP is leading on this front at the state level, not at the federal level. We don't need the federal government determining how our elections are run. Our constitution is very clear that should be done at the state level.
