Chairwoman McDaniel: Teachers Unions Shouldn’t Be Involved In Rewriting History
TRACE GALLAGHER: It seems like the teachers' unions are saying it was Republicans who held our kids hostage and kept them out of school during Coronavirus, and now it is Republicans who are forcing us not to be able to teach history. Next, they'll be saying Republicans wanted to defund police.
RNC CHAIRWOMAN RONNA MCDANIEL: You're exactly right, Trace. They really are rewriting history at a rapid clip, which is why we don't want the teacher's union involved in creating and teaching our history to begin with. But [Weingarten is] deceitful in her comments. She tries to make it partisan when the reality is, what we are saying is parents should be involved in determining what their children are taught. And many parents, most parents in this country believe America is the greatest nation on Earth and that you don't get rid of racism by teaching racism in the classroom, which is what critical race theory does.
