Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters told Newsmax that President Donald Trump should use Monday's campaign rally in Michigan to remind voters of his administration's economic accomplishments and its focus on working Americans as Republicans seek to flip the state's open U.S. Senate seat.

"First and foremost, the fact that this president has gone to bat for the American worker every day since he's been reelected," Gruters said when asked what Trump should tell Michigan voters.

Gruters pointed to the Working Family Tax Cuts package, saying it includes provisions eliminating taxes on overtime pay, tips, and Social Security benefits.

"I think Mike Rogers is a phenomenal candidate. I expect to win that race," Gruters said. "We're going to continue to fight every single day until November so we can return majorities for the president so we can continue to pass good legislation.
