Chairwoman McDaniel: I Have Never Seen This Type Of Grassroots Energy
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: Why would any voter feel motivated to go vote for more of what we have right now? It always goes back to that closing argument that Reagan made so well in the eighties which is: are you better off? Are you better off that Democrats have been in control? Are you getting more money? Do your kids feel better in school? Are you feeling safer? Those basic questions that you wake up thinking about every day, and then you look at the Democrats and you say why would I vote for that? Why don't we make a change? And this is that type of election where I think a lot of voters - especially African American voters. You look at Detroit. Their test scores went down 12 points during the lockdowns. Kids weren't in school for over 51% of the year in 2021. That's Gretchen Whitmer. Why would anybody go vote for somebody who did that to your kid? And those are the questions Republicans are asking right now when we're showing up in communities we’ve never shown up in and we’re saying give us a chance to earn your vote. Because, the Republican Party, unlike what Bill Clinton said, we do want to make lives better for everyone.
PERINO: So, our job is to sit here in New York to follow everything and have a chance to talk to you. You traveled to five states yesterday. Did you meet anybody or see anything that made you think wow we need to work a little bit harder as a Republican Party in this area or did you feel like there was somebody that you met and you thought, oh, this is our new voter?
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: You know, I just see the momentum when I come out and I see the passion. So, I will give you an example. We have a million volunteers right now. I have never seen this type of grassroots energy we have with people making calls, knocking doors, talking to their neighbors. Every event we are going to is packed. And so I feel it on the ground. It is matching what I’m seeing in the polls. And I feel really good about our candidates as well. So, those are the things I’m seeing when I’m on the ground.
Chairwoman McDaniel: We Are Seeing A Realignment With Hispanic Voters Towards The Republican Party
WEBSTER: 46% of Hispanic voters say they want Republicans to control the House after the midterms. That compares to just 42% who want Democrats. Also, Latino members could have as many as 45 states in Congress after the midterms which would be, by the way, a record number. What do you make of this shift? This shift of more Hispanics moving toward the GOP?
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: I think this is an election about common sense, and it makes sense for Hispanic voters to go to the Party that talks about school choice. That talks about economic freedom. That talks about lowering gas prices and unleashing energy independence. That talks about religious freedom. These are things that are very key and central, especially to communities that love this country, that came here legally and are watching this country turn into, under the Democrats, the countries they left with the rising crime and all the things we’re are seeing out of the Democrat Party as they lurch toward socialism and communism. So, the RNC has invested a record number of dollars in Hispanic community centers. We have 21 around the country. And then we have recruited some of the best candidates from the Hispanic community. Mayra Flores, Monica De La Cruz, Juan Ciscomani, Cassy Garcia, the list goes on and on. But we are seeing a realignment with Hispanic voters towards the Republican Party because Democrats haven't delivered, and Republicans are offering a vision of hope and common-sense policies that will make their lives better.
