DALLAS, TX — Tonight, at the Republican Convention, President Trump sounded off on the fight to secure America’s elections — calling for voter ID, proof of citizenship, and Democrats to vote for the SAVE America Act.

“The only reason the Democrats are fighting us on voter ID, and
you know what the second is, proof of citizenship. So, the only reason they're
fighting us is because they want to cheat. There's no other reason. But you
have to admit they're really good at this stuff. They come up with more
excuses. They say, ‘It's important not to have voter ID because it’s
extraordinarily difficult for some people.’ They have more bullshit than any
human beings on the planet.”
“The Democrats voted against voter ID, and 100% of the Democrats,
100%. And you know, the Democrat voters actually like it. It polls at 87% for
the whole voting public. 100% of the Democrats voted against all these things,
tax cuts, everything else, but they voted against voter ID and they voted
against proof of citizenship.”
