"Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters said President Donald Trump’s policy agenda represents the GOP’s strongest weapon heading into the 2026 midterm elections...

"Gruters stressed that Trump’s focus on law and order, inflation-fighting measures, border security, and pro-worker initiatives, such as no tax on tips and overtime pay and expanding child tax credits, are '80-20 type issues' that resonate across demographics.

“'The one thing that we have that nobody else has ever had is President Trump and his policies, which are winning people over every day,' Gruters said. 'If our candidates stick with the president and follow his lead, I think that will buck the trends and we’ll win.'...

"The RNC ended the most recent reporting period with $92 million cash on hand, far outpacing Democratic committees, Gruters noted....

“Party unity, he argued, will determine whether Republicans expand their majorities or face Democratic obstruction that could stall the president’s momentum...

"Looking ahead to 2028, Gruters praised Vice President JD Vance, the RNC finance chairman, for his fundraising work with major donors…

“The chairman, who rose through the ranks from high school door-knocker to Young Republicans chairman, county chairman, Florida state chairman, and now national chairman, described himself as ‘the ultimate grassroots chairman’  and stressed that victories begin with strong state and local organizations working in tandem with the national committee.

“‘We’re truly all a team,’ Gruters said. ‘At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is victories.’
