WASHINGTON D.C. - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters issued the following statement after law enforcement detained an armed suspect plotting an attack at the RNC's fundraiser with President Trump:
“I am immensely grateful to the Secret Service and law enforcement for stopping what could have been yet another terrible attack on President Trump," said Chairman Gruters. "These attempted assassinations continue to happen because Democrats demonize law enforcement and normalize political violence against President Trump. Their calls for unity are hollow - we already know their true goal is to eliminate the president, whatever the cost.”
