WASHINGTON - The Republican National Committee (RNC) released today a new episode of “Real America,” a podcast hosted by RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. In this episode, Chairwoman McDaniel is joined by Georgia Senate Candidate Herschel Walker to discuss why he is running for office, Georgia’s election integrity law, the importance of the midterm elections, and of course, his football career.
“[When] you had announced that you were running for Senate, and you called to let me know and you had sent me your ad. And when you called me, I was school shopping for my daughter. And I'm like, Herschel, this is not the best time, I am getting my daughter ready to go to college. And you said, you know, ‘Can I just say something to her? Can you put her on the phone?’ And I put you on the phone with my daughter, and you were so kind, and you were so sweet and so motivational,” shared Chairwoman McDaniel. “And I thought about that a lot. It meant a lot to me as a mom and to my young daughter... But I think it embodies who you are. You are somebody who brings out the best in people. I think you're aspirational. I think you see the best in everyone you meet. And I think you embody what everybody wishes they could see in politicians.”
“I think one of the most important things is working together, bringing people together, because, you know, I'm only one person and you need people to come together to get votes, to be able to change things,” explained Walker. “You need to know how to work together. I’m able to and I'm not afraid to cross over and talk to someone else and try to figure out what is going on. And one thing about it is, you know, I was on an Olympic team, and I learned how great this country is … This is the greatest country in the world, the United States of America.”
“Real America” features stories from outside the beltway, highlights Republican leadership and shows how Republican policies are leading America’s comeback and working for real Americans. Chairwoman McDaniel is offering the platform for Republican leaders to share their successes and for listeners to hear real stories from the exciting, leading voices in our Party.
