WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) released today a new episode of “Real America,” a podcast hosted by RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. This week’s episode features Senior Advisor for Election Integrity Josh Helton, who discusses how the RNC’s standalone Election Integrity Department is protecting commonsense election integrity laws, stopping Democrats from passing bad laws that make our elections less secure, and deploying staff across 12 states nationwide.
The RNC has field 78 election integrity lawsuits across the country this cycle securing key wins on issues like poll watcher access, voter ID, and mail ballot safeguards. The RNC's program has also hired more than 25 political staff and lawyers in Washington, DC and in battleground states dedicated to working around the clock for election integrity.
“The 2022 election was the first time where we were ever really able to engage in this election integrity space, which is so critical,” said Chairwoman McDaniel. “So that election, we had 70 lawsuits, we recruited [thousands of] poll watchers and poll workers and we did a great job helping to protect the election and doing what voters needed us to do to…We’ve created an entire department within the RNC completely dedicated to protecting the vote, and it’s so many aspects – recruiting people to watch and observe the election, people to actually work the polls, count the ballots, do all of those things, volunteer lawyers that we’re going to shift at polling locations across the country and build a war room. All these things are what we’re doing to protect the 2024 election.”
“We’re going to protect your vote,” said Helton. “We love for folks to go vote early in-person where they can. If you are going to use the mail system, then we want to make sure that is as secure as possible…We’re recruiting poll workers so they will be in there and…actually administering that process. Step two is having observers in all of these central tabulation areas…where all of these mail ballots are being handled. We’re going to have eyes on that, we’re going to have poll watchers, we’re going to have attorneys on the ground, we’re going to have attorneys in the war room dealing with issues as they arise…We are doing everything we can through the law and through our field efforts so that they can bank their vote comfortably and know that it’s going to be secure and know that it’s going to be counted.”
“Real America,” which entered its third season this year, features stories from outside the beltway, highlights Republican leadership and shows how Republican policies are leading America’s comeback and working for real Americans. Chairwoman McDaniel is offering the platform for Republican leaders to share their successes and for listeners to hear real stories from the exciting, leading voices in our Party.
