RNC Demands Cobb County Comply with Georgia Drop Box Law

Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, the Republican National Committee (RNC) sent a letter to the Cobb County, Georgia, Board of Elections and Registration demanding compliance with the state's SB 202 absentee ballot drop box requirements.

“Georgia law requires ballot drop boxes to be distributed fairly, not concentrated in Democrat strongholds,” said RNC Chairman Joe Gruters. “The RNC has spent years defending SB 202, and we'll keep holding left-wing election officials accountable when they fail to follow it."

Background:

  • Today, the RNC sent a letter to the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration demanding compliance with Georgia's ballot drop box laws
  • Georgia law requires ballot drop boxes to be distributed evenly based on population, but Cobb County's drop boxes are concentrated in Democrat strongholds instead of being fairly distributed across the county.
  • The RNC is demanding answers on how county officials plan to correct the violation and whether they are operating more drop boxes than Georgia law allows.
  • The RNC has been working to defend SB202 since it was signed into law in 2021, supporting its implementation and defense against repeated attacks from Democrats and left-wing organizations.
