WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the anniversary of the U.S. Embassy being evacuated and Kabul falling to the Taliban during Biden’s deadly Afghanistan withdrawal:
“It’s been two years since Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal, and Biden still has not taken any responsibility for one of the most catastrophic foreign policy decisions in U.S. history. We will always remember the 13 service members who died, the Americans and our allies who were left behind, and the Biden administration’s lack of leadership on the world stage.”
August 15 also marks the day that the Taliban took over the Bagram Airfield prison that housed 5,000 inmates, some of whom were Al Qaeda and Taliban members. The Biden administration quietly abandoned the air base just weeks earlier.
