RNC Statement on Biden’s Failure Tour Stop in Ohio

Press Release

WASHINGTON- Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on Biden’s trip to Ohio:

“Biden’s Failure Tour stop in Ohio comes on the heels of historic Republican turnout in this week’s primary elections. Meanwhile, Democrats had decade low turnout as the burden of Biden haunts their candidates up and down the ballot. Ohioans will vote for Republicans because they know Biden and Democrats are responsible for skyrocketing prices, rising crime, and a historic border crisis.”

Background:

  • Republican enthusiasm on Tuesday was tangible, the highest number of ballots cast in a midterm primary in the last two decades, surpassing 2018 by nearly 200,000 votes.
    • Meanwhile, Democrat turnout in the Buckeye State collapsed, the lowest number of Democrat ballots cast for a top of ticket primary race in the state in at least the last two decades.
  • The US public’s view of the nation’s economy is the worst it’s been in a decade and Joe Biden is underwater on issues across the board.
  • 66% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy.
  • 66% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of immigration.
  • 64% of Americans disapprove say Biden is not helping the middle class.
  • This week, Democrat Tim Ryan said he does not want “surrogates” like Joe Biden to play a role in his campaign for Senate, despite voting with him 100% of the time.
  • Democrat Nan Whaley did not say if she would appear with Biden if he campaigns in Ohio.
