RNC Statement on Biden's Fundraiser in Chicago

WASHINGTON - Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Spokesperson Emma Vaughn released the following statement on Joe Biden's fundraiser in Chicago:

"Joe Biden has continuously lied about who is to blame for the skyrocketing inflation Americans face – and voters know it. Biden hobnobbing with Governor J.B. Pritzker at a $365,000 per person dinner underscores how deeply out of touch Democrats are with the expensive reality they've created." 

Background:

  • April’s Consumer Price Index surged by 8.3 percent compared to last year – a near 40-year high. 
    • Core consumer prices – excluding food and energy – rose by 6.2 percent since last year. 
  • Real average hourly earnings fell 2.6 percent in April, with rising prices eating up any wage growth. 
  • Since Biden’s failed $1.9 trillion “stimulus” was passed, inflation has outpaced wages every single month.
