WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on Biden’s blame game on higher gas prices:

“This is the Biden Gas Hike. Biden can try to shift blame for his record-high gas prices, but Americans know the Democrats’ anti-U.S. energy agenda is costing them more at the pump.”

• The RNC recently launched a nationwide initiative to register voters at gas stations.
• U.S. gas prices recently reached their highest level ever recorded.
  • In some parts of the country, gas prices have reached over $7 a gallon. 
  • The average American household will potentially be forced to spend an additional $2,000 on gas this year because of Biden’s gas hike.
  • Due to Biden’s self-inflicted gas crisis, Uber and Lyft have decided to implement “fuel surcharges to rides nationwide.”
• Americans blame Biden for higher gas prices.
• 68 percent of voters blame Biden for rising gas prices.
• 64 percent of Americans say the price of gasoline has been a very serious or somewhat serious problem for them and their family.
• 45 percent say they have cut back significantly on their household spending because of the recent rise in gas prices.
