WASHINGTON - Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on Joe Biden’s meeting to discuss inflation:
“After one of the most expensive Memorial Day weekends on record, Biden is lying to hardworking Americans about the economy. Under Biden, inflation and gas prices have only gone up and families are struggling to afford basic needs as a result. Despite what Biden and the Democrats say, the economy is declining steadily on their watch as families can’t afford everything from gas to groceries.”

- April’s Consumer Price Index surged by 8.3 percent compared to last year – a near 40-year high.

- Core producer prices – which takes out food and energy – also increased at a near record 8.8 percent pace.
