RNC Statement on Biden's Out-Of-Touch Small Business Remarks

WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released a statement on Biden’s out-of-touch small business remarks:  

"Biden’s failed economic agenda has created the highest inflation in 40 years, crushed small businesses, and led to our economy shrinking this year. As many small businesses struggle to keep their doors open Biden and Democrats have shown to be untethered from reality as they double down on their disastrous policies. Democrats up and down the ballot will pay the price for his reckless economic agenda in November.”    

Background:  

• The economy shrank 1.4% on an annualized rate in the first quarter of this year.  
• ​​​​​​​66% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy according to the latest AP-NORC poll. 
• The latest National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) survey shows how small businesses are hurting under Biden.  
  • ​​​​​​​99% of small employers said the rise in gas and fuel prices under Biden is having a negative impact on their business. 
  • 86% of small employers are having to raise prices for their goods and services. 
  • Nearly one-third of small businesses are taking on debt to deal with higher costs.
