RNC Statement on Biden's Roundtable to Discuss His Tax Hike

WASHINGTON - Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman released the following statement on Biden's roundtable to discuss his tax hike during a recession:

"Biden turned a recovery into a recession. No amount of lies will hide the fact Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Manchin want to raise taxes on Americans amid sky-high prices, out-of-control inflation, and the Biden recession. The Bidenflation Scam Bill further underscores how out-of-touch Joe Biden and the Democrat Party are with the struggles of hardworking Americans." 

Background:

• According to the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation, the Biden Tax Hikes will raise taxes on Americans making as little as $30,000/year.
• According to the Tax Foundation, the Biden Tax Hikes would:
  • Have “likely close to zero” impact on reining in inflation, and may actually “worsen” it.
  • Reduce economic growth.
  • Destroy 30,000 jobs.
  • Decrease “average after-tax income for taxpayers” at every income level.
  • Increase the deficit by $75 billion if made permanent.
• Republicans and President Trump fought so American families could keep more of their own money. After the Republican tax cuts:
  • Real median income skyrocketed, growing by $5,000 in 2018 and 2019.
  • Americans saw an average tax cut of $1,260 in 2018.
  • 90% saw an increase in take-home pay in 2018.
