WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican National Committee released the following statement on the CO-08 Democrat Primary:
"The inmates are running the asylum in the Colorado Democrat Party, and Manny Rutinel is the face of the radical socialist takeover,” said RNC Chairman Joe Gruters. “Voters will reject this lifelong vegan and Green New Deal activist, who has spent his entire adult life working to raise costs and kill jobs."
National Democrats admitted that CO-08 "is off the map if Manny is the nominee" because of his extreme agenda. Rutinel:
- Fiercely advocated to eliminate fossil fuels
- Was arrested during a Green New Deal protest
- Led a Green New Deal bill that is threatening to shutter Colorado's only oil refinery
- Called animal agriculture a horrific, exploitative industry as part of his lifelong crusade to ban ranching and force everyone to go vegan
- Founded and led an organization that fought to put ranchers out of business by driving up costs and eliminating demand
- Testified that "the globe must dramatically shift away from animal products"
- Cut Medicaid, defunded the police, and raised in-state tuition to pay for a $100 million program giving illegal aliens taxpayer-funded healthcare
- Led a bill wasting millions of tax dollars on DEI nonsense, including trauma-based land acknowledgments
- Campaigned with socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and worked to abolish ICE
