WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on skyrocketing prices this Fourth of July weekend:
“Fireworks are not the only thing exploding this holiday, as prices are soaring higher than any bottle rocket. Joe Biden’s reckless agenda has made it more difficult for Americans to spend time with family, friends, and celebrate Independence Day. The American dream is slipping away because of Biden’s reckless agenda.”

- According to newly released data from the Farm Bureau, the cost of a July 4th Cookout is 17% higher compared to last year.
- Last year, Biden’s White House touted that Americans would save $0.16 on their Fourth of July cookouts.
- Skyrocketing food and gas prices this one of will make the costliest Fourth of July weekends on record.
- 90% of Americans say they are impacted by the price of food.
- 84% of Americans say they are personally impacted by the price of gas
- 61% of Americans said they were pessimistic about the ability for most people to achieve the American dream
- This is a stark contrast from 2019 when 70% of Americans viewed the American dream as personally achievable.
- 83% of Americans described the state of the economy as poor or not so good.
- Americans say the American dream is less achievable now than it was two years ago.
