RNC Statement on Florida Senate Bill 90

Press Release

WASHINGTON– Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on Florida Senate Bill 90, signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis:

“Florida’s election integrity law provides reasonable, effective reforms to the electoral process, which the majority of American voters support. To put it simply, these reforms make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. While protecting the integrity of our elections should be nonpartisan and non-controversial, Democrats are dishonestly peddling lies to weaken our voting process, just as they did in Georgia. Floridians know how to run their own elections, and Democrats are terrified of a transparent and secure election process.  We will continue to protect election integrity at every level of the process and look forward to defending this law in court.” – RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel

Florida Senate Bill 90 includes the following common-sense provisions:

  • Requiring bi-annual maintenance of Florida’s online voter registration system to ensure its strength,
  • Prohibiting state election officials from receiving private donations related to voter outreach,
  • Mandating increased transparency from county voting websites on Election Day,
  • Strengthening vote-by-mail drop-box security,
  • Enhancing transparency regarding ballot duplication, voter registration, and election day numbers,
  • Tightening provisions on partisan ballot harvesting.
