WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed a funding bill to reopen the government:
“After six weeks of causing hardworking Americans to suffer, Democrats have nothing to show for their reckless shutdown,” said Chairman Gruters. “They blocked Americans’ paychecks, prioritized illegal immigrants over U.S. citizens, and left working families to struggle. While President Trump ensured our troops were paid and food assistance programs for women and children stayed funded, Democrats chose to keep the government closed to appease their far-left base.”
