WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters released the following statement on the IA-01 primary:
"DEI Queen Christina Bohannan's radical left-wing agenda has been rejected twice by voters before, and she is primed for a threepeat in November. While Bohannan has spent years scolding Iowans for not being woke enough, Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks delivered the largest working-class tax cut in history, secured a historic investment in rural healthcare, and has been a champion for farmers.”
Christina Bohannan has:
Called Iowans "backwards" for opposing DEI and said "slavery was a central part of America's founding"
Wrote an op-ed opposing a Back the Blue law because she was worried that the "BIPOC community" would have to pull over for police and had concerns Black Lives Matters protestors would not be able to block roads in future riots
Served as the chairwoman of the University of Iowa's law school's DEI Committee where she urged students and staff to stand with George Floyd and "support the movement" by funding the Minnesota Freedom Fund and National Bail Out Fund, two radical groups that support defunding police
Donated to bailout illegal aliens through a group that dreamed of achieving a "world without police"
Admitted that she was "very active" in a group that worked to abolish ICE and establish sanctuary cities
Co-led legislation to prevent doctors and nurses from caring for sick Iowans unless they passed DEI training
