Nine of the top 10 states for jobs recovered since the coronavirus pandemic began are led by Republicans
WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the June state jobs report:
"The contrast couldn’t be clearer. As families struggle to shoulder the burden of Bidenflation, Republican states are leading the economic recovery. Commonsense, conservative leadership works, yet Biden and Democrats continue to push their reckless tax and spend agenda, leaving Americans to foot the bill.”
Background:
- Newly released data from the Labor Department confirms that Republican governors and legislatures are leading the way in getting America back to work.
- Through June, nine of the top 10 states for jobs recovered since the coronavirus pandemic began are led by Republican governors, and all 10 states have Republican-controlled legislatures.
- Republican-led states on average have recovered more than 102 percent of their lost jobs compared to just over 89 percent for Democrat-run states.
- Out of the top 10 states with the lowest unemployment rates, eight are led by Republican governors and eight have Republican-controlled legislatures.
- Out of the 14 states that have hit new record low unemployment rates, 9 have Republican governors and 11 have Republican-controlled legislatures.
