RNC Statement on March State Jobs Report

WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the March state jobs report: 

“Another month of Biden’s economic failures, another month of Republican governors leading the way. It is no coincidence that eight of the top 10 states for jobs recovered since the pandemic are led by Republican governors, and all 10 states have Republican-controlled legislatures. Republican policies work, and that’s why so many Americans are voting with their feet and fleeing Democrat-run states for the economic freedom and prosperity offered in red states.” 

Background:

• The latest state jobs report shows that eight of the top 10 states for jobs recovered since the coronavirus pandemic are led by Republican governors, and all 10 states have Republican-controlled legislatures.
  • Out of the top 12 states with the lowest unemployment rates, 10 are led by Republican governors.
• The top 10 counties that saw the largest decreases in population in 2022 are all located in states led by Democrat governors, with these counties home to Democrat-run cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, and Detroit.
• According to a report from the National Association of Realtors, California, New York, and Illinois lost the most people in 2022.
