Biden’s DHS just reported the highest number of illegal border crossings in the department’s history – 221,303 illegal border crossings in March
WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the devastating March border numbers, the single worst month in DHS history:
“Joe Biden’s open border is empowering drug and human traffickers, putting American families at risk, and making American communities less safe. Over 221,300 illegal immigrants were encountered at the southern border in March, the highest total in the history of the Department of Homeland Security. Biden and the Democrats are only making the crisis worse and will pay the price at the ballot box in November.”
Background:
- In March, 221,303 illegal immigrants were apprehended at the southern border, the highest number of illegal border crossings in the Department of Homeland Security’s history.
- March’s encounters passed the previous Biden peak set in July, and is the highest number in DHS history.
- There have now been over 2,498,000 illegal immigrant encounters under Joe Biden.
- That does not include the +600,000 “gotaways” who have crossed the border and escaped into the country since Biden took office.
- Over 80,000 illegal immigrants were released into the U.S. last month. During Trump’s last full month, there were only 17.
- By ending Title 42 – a successful Trump-era border security tool – Biden is actively worsening his border crisis and creating unprecedented levels of illegal immigration.
- The videos feature leading party figures including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who calls the situation at the border a “catastrophe.”
