RNC Statement on New York Governor Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters released the following statement on the New York Governor Race: 

“Congratulations to Bruce Blakeman, a strong conservative who will bring the fight straight to Albany. Kathy Hochul is one of the worst governors New York has ever had. She championed cashless bail and a pro-criminal, anti-law enforcement agenda, became Mamdani’s lackey, and pushed businesses and jobs out of the state. Hochul will continue to drive New York State into the ground unless voters show up this November and put a stop to it.” 

Kathy Hochul:

• Championed cashless bail and a soft-on-crime anti-law enforcement agenda
• Fell in line behind radical socialist Zohran Mamdani
• Bungled her budget full of tax hikes and spending increases
• Supports tax hikes in a state already paying some of the highest taxes in the country
• Implemented Congestion Pricing, a cash grab paid for on the backs of commuters
• Drove businesses and job creators out of the state
• Misleads voters by temporarily pausing unpopular policies like Congestion Pricing and gas-stove bans during election years
