WASHINGTON,
D.C. – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters
released the following statement on NY-19:
“Josh
Riley is a hypocrite who profits off high energy costs while voting
repeatedly against lower prices and increasing energy production
here at home. Riley is in the pocket of DC Democrats and has failed New Yorkers
repeatedly during his time in office. Josh Riley has got to go.”
Josh
Riley:
- Was exposed as
an investor in NYSEG, despite being a vocal critic of the firm
and its parent company

against lowering energy costs and restoring American
energy production
- Has done nothing while New York
State Democrats, like Kathy
Hochul, have driven up energy costs, taken away consumer
choice, and restricted energy supply
- Backed legislation
expunging the records of violent felons
- Voted against historic tax
cuts, including:
- Quadrupling the
State and Local Tax (SALT) Deduction cap from $10,000 to $40,000 –
something Biden and Democrats failed to do when they held control in
Washington
- Increasing the average tax
refund around 10%
- No tax on tips
- No tax on overtime
- No tax on Social
Security
- Increasing real wages an
average of $7,200
- Delivering a $212
million investment in New York’s rural health care
- Trump
Accounts, providing hundreds
of thousands of newborns in New York State with
funds for their future
- Voted for
the longest government shutdown in American History
- Voted
repeatedly to defund federal law enforcement and the
Department of Homeland Security
Voted
against lowering health care costs for New Yorkers
