WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the October jobs report:
“Biden and Democrats are lying about the economy – today’s jobs report is the second worst jobs report of Biden’s entire presidency. Families are struggling to keep up with lower real wages and higher prices on everything from gas to groceries, yet Biden refuses to accept any accountability for his failures. Bidenomics isn’t the ‘American Dream,’ it’s our American nightmare.”
Background:
- With the economy adding just 150,000 jobs in October – coming in below economists’ expectations – this is the second worst jobs report of Biden’s presidency.
- Biden’s economic agenda is decimating Americans’ finances – the average middle-class household has lost over $33,000 in real wealth in just the past year.
- U.S. average gas prices currently sit at $3.44 per gallon which is more than $1 higher than when Biden became president.
- The Fed has hiked interest rates 11 times since March 2022 – now at their highest level in 22 years – making it harder for families to buy a home, finance a car, pay off debt, and perform various other financial transactions.
- Despite Biden’s attempts to downplay his failures, American are not fooled; they know Biden is to blame.
- Poll after poll show that Americans trust Republicans to handle the economy over Democrats.
