RNC Statement on One-Year Anniversary of the Evacuation of the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan

Press Release

WASHINGTON - Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Embassy being evacuated and Kabul falling to the Taliban during Biden’s deadly Afghanistan withdrawal:

"One year after Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, Americans are still left with more questions than answers. Americans will always remember the 13 service members who died, the countless who were left behind, and that Biden is responsible for one of the most catastrophic foreign policy decisions in U.S. history.”

August 15 also marks the day that the Taliban took over the Bagram Airfield prison that housed 5,000 inmates, some of whom were Al Qaeda and Taliban members. The Biden administration quietly abandoned the air base just weeks earlier.
