RNC Statement On Over a Year of Biden's Inflation Lies

One year ago today, Biden said inflation would be “temporary.”

WASHINGTON – Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on one year since Biden’s inflation lie:

“Biden lied, Democrats rubberstamped his failed policies, and now Americans are paying the price. Biden and Democrats continue to make up excuses while historic inflation and high gas prices wipe out wages. Voters know inflation has not been temporary, but one-party Democrat rule will be.”

Background:

• One year ago today, Biden said inflation is expected to be “temporary."
• June’s Producer Price Index rose by 11.3 percent since last year , a near record high.
• June’s Consumer Price Index soared by 9.1 percent  compared to last year, exceeding economists’ expectations and reaching a new 40-year high .
• Real average hourly earnings fell 3.6 percent  over the last year, marking the 15th month in a row in which inflation has outpaced wages.
• Inflation has wiped out wage gains every month since April 2021 , right after Biden signed the $1.9 trillion boondoggle.
