RNC Statement on the Nevada Gubernatorial Primary

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters released the following statement on the Nevada Gubernatorial Primary: 

“Nevadans want to re-elect Governor Joe Lombardo because he is a fighter for public safety, lower costs, and kitchen table issues. Meanwhile, Aaron Ford doesn’t show up to work, and when he does, it’s for higher taxes, siding with illegals, and defunding the police."

Aaron Ford:

• Spent over a year out of state, spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars
• Promoted sanctuary policies that would keep dangerous criminals in our communities
• Supports Defunding the Police
• Was arrested multiple times for public intoxication, skipping out on court, and stealing
• Doesn't pay his taxes
• Fought against no tax on tips
• Was "intimately involved" in AB 236 which led to a 39% increase in retail theft
• Fought to lower penalties for drug dealers
