RNC Statement on the PA-07 Primary

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Joe Gruters released the following statement on the PA-07 Primary: 

“Democrats were so desperate to secure obedient allies that they meddled in a competitive primary, put their thumb on the scale, and won themselves a rubber-stamp candidate in Bob Brooks. Brooks doesn’t stand for anything but himself, and now the party bosses who bought and paid for this primary win. Lehigh Valley voters won’t be fooled and will send proven fighter Representative Ryan Mackenzie back to Congress for a second term.”  – RNC Chairman Joe Gruters

Bob Brooks: 

• Claims to be a "working class fighter," but can't seem to define “working class”
• Had to be coached on how to appear relatable
• Is being sued by his former mother-in-law for defrauding her of more than $162,000
• Started breaking campaign promises while still on the campaign trail
• Was handpicked by the DCCC weeks before a competitive primary, a coronation highly criticized by Pennsylvania Democrats
