WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley and
Georgia Republican Party Chairman Josh McKoon released the following joint
statement in response to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners' decision to
indefinitely table the appointments of two Republican nominees to the County
Election Board:
"The Fulton County Board of Commissioners’ decision is a
blatant, partisan power grab and a clear violation of law. It is unacceptable
for Democrat commissioners to weaponize the appointment process to block
Republican representation. Their attempt to disqualify Julie Adams and Jason
Frazier — while reappointing Democrat nominees —undermines the rule of law and
disadvantages tens of thousands of Republican voters in Fulton County. Voters
deserve an election board that fairly reflects the county’s citizens and not
one rigged to serve the Democrats’ agenda. We will explore all options to
ensure Republican voices are not silenced.”
