THE MAIN THING:  “Disaster” - September Jobs Report: Far Fewer Jobs Than Expected

 


The headlines are brutal: “Those are very bad” “That's an amazing number, and it's not a good one.” “The worst of the year” “Woah… That is real low.”

The numbers: The economy added just 194,000 jobs in September, less than half the jobs economists had predicted

“GOP tears in Joe after jobs report fell short AGAIN”: "Joe Biden's Build Back Broke agenda continues to hurt American workers, drive up the cost of everyday goods, and crush small businesses.” - Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said, 

  • “The latest jobs report, creating 300,000 fewer jobs than expected, proves that trillions more in reckless spending and higher taxes will only further squander the economic recovery and leave working families behind. Americans cannot afford Biden’s disastrous Build Back Broke agenda.”

What they’re saying:

Because of Biden’s failed policies workers are still struggling to get their jobs back and businesses are struggling to hire even though the economy has nearly 11 million job openings – a record high.

RNC Expands Community Centers In Hispanic Neighborhoods

Making inroads: The Republican National Committee (RNC) opened two new Hispanic Community Centers this week in Doral, Florida, and McAllen, Texas. 

  • This marks a total of four Hispanic outreach centers, the others being in Laredo, Texas, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
  • Why this matters: “We are very excited about the opening of these Hispanic Community Centers, which will serve to listen to the concerns and needs of our people and to share the conservative ideas and proposals of the Republican Party,” said Jaime Florez, RNC Hispanic Communications Director. 

The Hill reported on the opening ceremony in McAllen, saying: “The new community centers are part of the RNC’s multimillion-dollar effort to focus organizing efforts in communities that have high Asian-Pacific American (APA), Black and Hispanic populations throughout the country.”

  • “The committee said it is opening the centers early to ensure that Republicans can make progress with minority voters with the ultimate goal of taking control of the House and Senate in 2022.”

What to watch: The openings are part of the RNC’s efforts to bring our message of freedom and opportunity to a voting bloc Democrats have long taken for granted. 

  • In 2020, Republicans netted 15 seats in the House of Representatives. In each of those seats that flipped to the GOP, the elected winner was either a woman, minority, or veteran-- 5 of the 15 were Hispanic Americans

“Free of Fear”: RNC Releases Part II & III of Hispanic Heritage Month Video Series

The RNC released the latest installments of the Hispanic Heritage Month video series entitled “Free of Fear.”

  • The RNC is highlighting Hispanic voices of those working at the RNC. The series highlights their personal stories and why they are proud to be Republicans

Townhall reported on the latest episode in the series features Hispanic voices of the RNC discussing the failures of Biden and Democrats that have disproportionately impacted the Hispanic community.

  • “‘Free of Fear Part II’ goes beyond the stories RNC staff shared in the first installment to look at what the Biden administration's actions — or lack thereof — and policies have meant to Hispanic Americans who are increasingly dissatisfied with the president's performance overall.” 

The Numbers: The latest polling from Quinnipiac shows 51 percent of Hispanics disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president.

  • 69% of Hispanics disapprove of the way Biden is handling immigration issues overall
  • 68% disapprove of his actions along the U.S.-Mexico border. 

In the video, RNC Communications Director Danielle Alvarez says Democrats’ increasingly radical agenda is pushing Hispanics out of their party:

  • "What it boils down to is that Democrats welcome socialists and socialist policies to their party, and they have a hard time standing up for freedom and opportunity.”

 


The Latest With Rep. Nancy Mace On The “Real America” Podcast

In a new episode of “Real America,” Chairwoman McDaniel hosted South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace. 

  • The two discuss her journey into politics, issues facing Americans, and strong female leadership in today’s Republican Party.

“Democrats always claim the mantle of being the party for women. But women in our party are not celebrated by the mainstream media,” said Chairwoman McDaniel. “If we are the first, if we're breaking glass ceilings or doing things that are outside the norm, it's muted because we're Republican, which is shameful.”

Townhall reported on the latest episode: “The latest episode featured Representative Nance Mace, a Republican representing South Carolina’s first congressional district. In the podcast, Mace discussed her journey into politics, the “Free Britney” movement, and female leadership in today’s GOP."
