In case you missed it, New
Hampshire held two debates last night, one in the state's 1st Congressional
District and another in the 2nd Congressional District. Over the past month,
two races that started out peaceful have quickly devolved into bitter, infighting-filled
contests as Democrats battle one another in an effort to come out on top.
What they are saying…
InDepthNH: Congressional
District 2 Democratic Primary Candidates Debate Housing, Immigration, and Data
Centers
“Democratic primary debate
between incumbent U.S. Rep. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), and challenger State Rep.
Paige Beauchemin, D-Nashua on Thursday night covered their positions on key
issues such as immigration, housing, and the looming possibility of data
centers.”
NH Journal: NH-01 Dem
Debate: Five Candidates, One Left-Wing Agenda
“The five Democrats seeking
the NH-01 congressional nomination leaned into the far-left politics sweeping
their party during Thursday night’s WMUR debate. All endorsed a single-payer
health care system, packing the U.S. Supreme Court, impeaching President Donald
Trump, and statehood for Washington, D.C.”
Townhall: New
Hampshire Democrats Try to Out-Hate ICE During US House Race Debate
“Democrats hate ICE, and
they vow to abolish the agency — and prosecute ICE agents — if they regain
power. Instead of being concerned about how to help Americans, a
Democrat-controlled Congress would spend its time attacking our law enforcement
agencies, raising taxes, and enacting revenge on President Trump and
Republicans.”
“And this New Hampshire U.S.
House race debate proves that, for Democrats, it's all about who can hate and
punish ICE the most.”
Roll Call: Democratic
race for Pappas seat in New Hampshire grows increasingly bitter
“The last competitive
Democratic House primary of the year hasn’t been shaped much by the centrist
vs. progressive narrative that has dotted intraparty contests around the
country this year.”
“What’s more noticeable is
how the crowded contest for New Hampshire’s 1st District seat being vacated by
Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas has turned negative over the past month,
especially between the two front-runners: Stefany Shaheen, a former Portsmouth
City councilor… and Maura Sullivan, a Marine Corps veteran who’s making her
second bid for the seat.”
WMUR-9: 1st
District Democrats clash on campaign funding, agree on abolishing ICE,
impeaching Trump
“The candidates in the
crowded Democratic field in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District sparred
on the Granite State Debate stage Thursday night as they tried to convince
voters they were the best choice to represent the state in Congress.”
[…]
“By a show of hands, all the
candidates agreed that they would push to impeach Trump if they were elected to
the House. When asked what the basis of impeachment would be, they all cited
corruption.”
