1 YEAR AGO: Biden promised no vaccine mandate

Last Saturday marked one year since Joe Biden infamously promised not to enact a vaccine mandate: “No I don’t think it should be mandatory, I wouldn’t demand it be mandatory.”

He lied, and it wasn’t just Biden. For months his administration argued a vaccine mandate would be a counterproductive overreach. As Press Secretary Psaki said, that’s “not a role that the federal government even has the power to make.”

But as Democrat cities follow Biden’s lead, Biden is getting his wish as workers and first responders across the country are forced off the job:

Democrat New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio furloughed 9,000 city employees under his vaccine mandate.
- More than 2,300 firefighters were furloughed, forcing 18 firehouses out of service and leading to longer emergency response times.
- 20 percent of sanitation workers were furloughed due to the mandate leading to heaps of trash around the city.
In New York State, 34,000 healthcare workers either lost their jobs or were put on leave.
In Los Angeles County, Sheriff Alex Villanueva warned his 18,000 employee department could lose “5, 10% of my workforce overnight.”
In Chicago, 4,500 officers, 35 percent of the Chicago police force, were placed on no pay status.
The American Trucking Association said a nationwide mandate could lead to up to 13 percent of truck drivers leaving their jobs and “cripple the supply chain throughout the country.”

Biden’s clear hypocrisy shows his mandate is about power and politics, not saving lives. How else to explain his refusal to apologize for spreading vaccine disinformation?

You can be pro-vaccine and pro-freedom – that’s why the RNC is suing the Biden administration to protect the fundamental rights of every American. In contrast, Biden treats “freedom” like a four letter word, and that will not “shut down the virus” like he promised.
