1 Year Later: Biden's Broken Afghanistan Promises

Rapid Response

Today marks one year since Joe Biden’s infamous press conference where he insisted his withdrawal from Afghanistan would be a success. It was not.

We now know it was a press conference full of lies and broken promises. The American people still don’t have answers or justice. As a reminder, Biden said:

  • It was “highly unlikely” the Taliban would take over Afghanistan.
  • It was “not true” that the U.S. intelligence community warned of the Afghanistan government’s collapse.
  • Afghanistan “clearly [has] the capacity to sustain the government.”
  • There are no parallels “whatsoever” to Vietnam.
  • There would be “no circumstance where you see people being lifted off the roof of a embassy of the United States from Afghanistan.”

WATCH:

Now, the administration is not cooperating with the Inspector General investigation into the withdrawal. Biden didn’t fire ANYONE for the disaster. The terrorists who planned the attack that killed 13 servicemembers are still at-large.

Biden promised that America was “back.” Biden may want to forget – he even refused to mention the 13 servicemembers in his State of the Union speech. But we won’t forget, just like the American people won’t. The images of mass chaos and disaster he created will stain his legacy forever.
