A DISASTROUS press conference

Joe Biden’s press conference was a dumpster fire. No wonder he does them so rarely.

At best, he lives in an alternate reality. At worst, he doesn’t care he’s lying. He bizarrely claimed: “I didn’t over promise but I have, probably, outperformed what anybody thought would happen.”

Outperformed? The American people don’t agree – his 33% approval rating is the lowest at this point in a presidency in the history of Quinnipiac polling.  His response? “I don’t believe the polls.”

And the disaster for Biden didn’t end there. A few lowlights. He:

• Blamed his unpopularity on COVID-19: “There's a lot of frustration and fatigue in this country. We know why: COVID-19.” Reminder: Biden promised to “shut down the virus.”
• Admitted “on testing, we should’ve done it quicker.” He repeatedly rejected proposals to order more tests before the holidays.
• Said “I make NO APOLOGIES for what I did” on Afghanistan. 13 U.S. servicemembers died because of his botched withdrawal.
• Was unintelligible on Putin and Ukraine:
  • He falsely claimed a nuclear power — like Russia — invading another country “hasn’t happened since World War Two.” Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 while Biden was vice president.
  • He said “My guess is [Putin] will move in.”
  • Appeared to greenlight a “minor incursion” into Ukraine: “It's one thing if it's a minor incursion..."
• Claimed he hasn't “been out in the community nearly enough” because he's been at the White House “an awful lot.” Biden has spent a quarter of his presidency in Delaware.
• Insisted, “I haven't attacked anybody publicly.” Last week, Biden said Americans who disagree with Democrats' federal elections takeover legislation are domestic enemies.
• Admitted his inflation crisis is “difficult” for middle class Americans: “You have a circumstance where people are paying more for a pound of hamburger meat than they've ever paid."
• Insisted “very few schools are closing” despite some of the nation's largest school districts in Democrat-run cities returning to virtual learning.
• Repeatedly lied about his policies.
• Biden claimed “this country’s working people actually got a raise” when real wages have actually declined 2.4% from last year.
• He insisted his Build Back Broke agenda won't "raise a single penny in taxes on people making under $400,000 a year,” a claim which has been repeatedly debunked.

The list goes on and on and on. One thing that was crystal clear: He doesn’t care that his policies are failing, and he doesn’t care about the American people.
