A Look Back at Warnock's Extremism

Rapid Response

You need not look further than Georgia’s Raphael Warnock to see the extremism that has gripped the Democrat Party.

Warnock’s life has been littered with controversial positions, harsh rhetoric, and insults aimed at virtually all with whom he disagrees.

Here are seven examples:

  1. In a 2015 sermon, Warnock attacked police officers as “gangster[s] and thug[s].”
  2. In 2016, Warnock called on Americans to “repent” for supporting President Trump and for its “worship of whiteness.”
  3. In 2016, Warnock said the legacy of brutal Cuban dictator Fidel Castro “is complex, kinda like America’s legacy is complex,” then compared America’s criminal justice system to communist Cuba’s political prisoners.
  4. In 2013, Warnock praised the Nation of Islam — led by proud anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan — as “important” and said “we’ve needed the witness of the Nation of Islam, in a real sense, to put a fire under us and keep us honest.”
  5. In his 2013 book, Warnock praised “the Marxist critique,” saying it “has much to teach the Black church” and “[has] played an important role in the maturation of Black theology.”
  6. In 2019, Warnock signed on to a statement that likened Israeli control of the West Bank to “previous oppressive regimes,” such as “apartheid South Africa.”
  7. Warnock’s spiritual mentor, Dr. James Hal Cone, argued white Christians are “satanic” and called for “the destruction of everything white.” Warnock praised him as a “poignant and powerful voice” of high “spiritual magnitude.”

Of course, we already know Warnock is dishonest; he doesn’t pay income taxes, has questionable financial arrangements with his church, and was even arrested for obstructing a police investigation into a child abuse case. And that doesn’t even begin to cover the extremist policies Warnock supports.

Warnock is an extremist partisan whose far-left views are out-of-step with the Georgians he represents — and in 11 days, Georgians will vote Warnock out.
