A new surge of unaccompanied minors

Rapid Response

The number of unaccompanied minors crossing the border is again on the rise as a result of Biden’s open border policies.

In June, 15,250 unaccompanied minors were encountered at the border, up by over 1,000 from May. Throughout the entirety of Biden’s border crisis, the number of unaccompanied minors apprehended at the border has been at historic highs. Indeed, for the last four months, the number has surpassed the peak numbers for the surges in both 2019 and 2014, which Barack Obama declared a “humanitarian crisis on the border.”

Yet, Biden has the audacity to claim progress because the facilities have HHS on the front door instead of CBP. Not even Democrats are buying it: “What they’re doing now is they’re moving the kids from the border patrol tents over to next door to the HHS facility. But with all due respect, it’s all a shell game.

Thousands of unaccompanied minors are still making the extremely dangerous journey to the border because of Biden’s policies, and even with the administration’s shell game, the number of illegal immigrants in CBP custody still exceeds 100% of CBP’s capacity.

Biden enacted an open borders agenda that was explicitly rejected by members of both parties, including Obama. Now, his border crisis is as bad as ever and getting worse.

His failed agenda is not humane, it is cruel.
