A Record Humanitarian Catastrophe

According to new reporting from the Washington Examiner, the Department of Homeland Security expects to encounter up to 161,000 unaccompanied minors at the border during FY 2022.

Not only does that surpass the record set last year, it more than doubles the pre-Biden high in FY 2019.

This is an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. What’s worse, it was entirely predictable. In fact, Democrats predicted in 2014 that adopting the very policies Biden has embraced would create disaster:

• Barack Obama in 2014: “Do not send your children to the borders. If they do make it, they'll get sent back. More importantly, they may not make it.”
• Hillary Clinton in 2014: “We have to send a clear message, just because your child gets across the border, that doesn't mean the child gets to stay…So, we don't want to send a message that is contrary to our laws or will encourage more children to make that dangerous journey.”
• Joe Biden in 2014: “Those who are pondering risking their lives to reach the United States should be aware of what awaits them.  It will not be open arms.”

Biden was told his open borders agenda would create a border crisis. He enacted those policies anyway. This crisis is getting worse, and the lives lost and devastation caused is on Joe Biden.
