Yesterday, surrounded by fellow far-left activists at the posh Aspen Institute — “the mountain retreat for the liberal elite” — Biden Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was showered with praise and adoration.

He and his boss deserve exactly none of it.

Under the weight of Mayorkas’ and Biden’s extreme incompetence:

• More than seven million illegal immigrants have crossed the border, including 1.4+ million illegal immigrants who escaped Border Patrol and vanished into the country.
• Hundreds of individuals on the terror watchlist have been arrested attempting to cross the border, which is a massive increase from the previous administration.
• Fentanyl trafficking by cartels is killing Americans “at catastrophic and record rates like we’ve never seen before.”
• Tens of thousands of migrant children have been exploited and forced into de facto “indentured servitude.”

It has been the same story for almost 30 months — but that’s by design.

Under Biden, “open borders” was always the plan.
