Americans believe in defending life

The Republican Party stands with the pro-life movement. We believe every life has value and deserves to be protected.

The American people agree:

  • 71% want significant limits on abortion.
  • 77% support legislation banning infanticide.
  • 80% believe that third trimester elective abortions should be illegal.

And no matter how the question is asked, Americans oppose taxpayer-funded abortions by a consistent 20 point margin. Americans:

  • Support “banning federal funding for abortion.”
  • Agree that Medicaid should not “cover abortion.”
  • Oppose allowing “Medicaid funds to be used to pay for abortions.”
  • Endorse the Hyde Amendment when told it “prohibits federal funds from being used to fund abortions, except in the case of incest, rape or to save the life of the mother.”

Americans believe in the sanctity of life, and the Republican Party stands with them.
