We are still waiting for Joe Biden to condemn Oakland for defunding nearly $18 million from police. It’s part of a long run of silence from Biden as Democrat-run cities endanger their communities by slashing police budgets.
As Biden stays silent, Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong is pleading for more resources after the city council’s cuts: “The reality is that we’re facing some significant challenges with crime...We need the resources.”
Crime is ravaging his city, with carjackings up 95%, homicides up 91%, aggravated assault up 18% and arson up 6%, but he does not have the officers to respond. As ABC News vividly described in a recent ride-along in Oakland: “For this Saturday’s shift, Lieutenant Lisa Ausmus was in charge of policing the eastern half of [Oakland]. She only had 38 officers on duty that night for a population of over 200,000 people.”

Instead of condemning these Democrat-run cities, Biden gaslights, falsely claiming Republicans support defunding.
He needs to stop lying, grow a backbone, and stand up to Democrats around the country defunding the police at this very moment.
