Who’s in charge at the Biden administration?
Another scandal has left serious questions about Biden’s involvement in the operations of his own administration — and continues to erode Americans’ confidence in their leaders.

In a late Friday night news dump, it was revealed that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had been incapacitated for almost a week — but didn’t bother to tell anyone.
In fact, Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks — who was to assume the secretary’s duties in his absence — was not informed of Austin’s hospitalization until three days later. Secretary of State Antony Blinken — fourth in the presidential line of succession — also said he “wasn’t aware.” Congressional leaders were not even told until just minutes before the Pentagon issued its public statement.
Most concerningly, however, is the news was even kept from Biden for several days. Biden, who was returning from a weekslong vacation when Austin was hospitalized, apparently still has “complete confidence,” despite the lapse in transparency.
Meanwhile, U.S. personnel continue facing attacks in Iraq, Syria, and the Red Sea as war intensifies in the Middle East — so who, exactly, was running the Pentagon?
The Biden administration won’t comment on the matter.
