Joe Biden’s speech showed he does not have the ability to meet this moment, to lead this nation, or to keep Americans safe.
- Biden was incoherent, detached, and projected weakness.
- He laughed and told jokes while briefing reporters on a terrorist attack that killed at least 13 U.S. servicemembers.
- He refused to guarantee he would get all Americans safely out of Afghanistan, breaking the promise he made last week that forces would remain as long as necessary.
- Biden again failed to take responsibility, and immediately blamed others for his botched handling of his withdrawal.
- Biden said “there may have been” a list with names of U.S. citizens and our allies that his administration shared with the Taliban. If this list exists, it’s akin to giving terrorists a kill list.
- Biden refused to admit any mistakes and doubled down on policies that have led to the deaths of Americans.
America needs a strong President right now. Biden is clearly not it – he has failed.
