Biden dishonors families of the fallen

Rapid Response

As the New York Post put it, Joe Biden’s failed withdrawal from Afghanistan, and his reaction to it, is Biden’s dishonor.

Over the last few days, the families of fallen heroes have shared heartbreaking stories of Biden’s callous disregard for them and their loved ones who were killed rescuing Americans and U.S. allies from Afghanistan.

The Washington Post detailed an exchange with Jiennah Roice, whose husband was killed:

Only Jiennah, who is expecting the couple's child next month, stayed. But she left disappointed, Roice said ... [Biden] struck the family as scripted and shallow, a conversation that lasted only a couple of minutes in "total disregard to the loss of our Marine," Roice said.

"You can't f--- up as bad as he did and say you're sorry," Roice said of the president. "This did not need to happen, and every life is on his hands."

And another with Mark Schmitz, whose son was killed:

Eventually, the parents took out a photo to show to Biden. “I said, ‘Don’t you ever forget that name. Don’t you ever forget that face. Don’t you ever forget the names of the other 12,’ ” Schmitz said. “ ‘And take some time to learn their stories.’ ”

Biden did not seem to like that, Schmitz recalled, and he bristled, offering a blunt response: “I do know their stories.”

Biden’s disastrous decisions created the chaos at the Kabul airport and put thousands of U.S. service members in harm’s way, and he reacts with disinterest, smirks, and jokes.

He shows disrespect and now he has abandoned hundreds of Americans in Afghanistan. He has failed at the basic duties of the president. The only word for it is dishonorable.
