Biden Forgets About East Palestine

Rapid Response

It has been 40 days since a toxic train disaster rocked the community of East Palestine, Ohio, and 13 days since Biden promised he’d visit “at some point.”

But even as contaminated debris remains in piles and residents clamor for help, the Biden administration has apparently already moved on.

Karine Jean-Pierre acknowledged the administration has no plan to visit East Palestine and feels “no urgency” to make the trip. It took Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg three weeks (and public shaming) to visit the area. And Biden has been spending his time vacationing in Delaware, fundraising with California liberals, and ignoring questions from the press.

This carelessness isn’t unexpected from an administration that botches every crisis it’s dealt — but it says all you need to know about how the Biden administration views rural Ohioans.

As one East Palestine resident put it: “I have no words for that man, honestly. He should've been here a long time ago.”
